At MOB Academy, senior schooling is about more than finishing Year 12. It’s about helping young men find direction, build confidence and take meaningful steps towards their future. Through a mix of classroom learning, industry qualifications, work experience and mentoring, our young men develop the skills and mindset needed to thrive beyond school.
Men of Business Academy is a Senior Secondary School that focuses on empowering young men with the skills, knowledge and confidence to be happy, healthy and successful in life after school.
MOB Academy caters for boys in Years 11 & 12 who are looking for alternative learning to mainstream schooling. MOB Academy promotes workforce and career focused education in addition to a formalised health and well-being program. With a streamlined program targeting the development of the key life skills of literacy, numeracy, health, resilience, commitment and respect, we give young men a strong position to ‘feel’ success through the achievement of the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and workplace emersion. Importantly, our young men receive extensive specialised and individualised support to address any barriers to learning and personal development that may hinder their success.
A key strength of MOB Academy is the existing deep engagement with the community mentors and the business community who have inspired the vision for a school. This large group of members and supporters have consistently provided mentorship to young people in MOB programs together with conducting events and raising significant funds to enable this opportunity. The deliberate integration of the young men with their community is witnessed through work placement opportunities and volunteering at local events providing a complete experience for the young men and their families.
MOB Academy tailors its educational programs to promote continuous engagement, meet individual student learning needs and interests, focuses heavily on student well-being, whilst exposing students to the essential literacy, numeracy and life skills required to function in today’s society. MOB Academy has designed the programs to target individual student needs, interests and growth, whilst building student resilience and confidence through a wide range of education programs. This includes optimising the training facilities both on-campus and the neighbouring TAFE College. We nurture existing community partnerships to provide the students with extensive extra-curricular activities such as playing fields, yoga, swimming, gym and the arts.
Questions about work, study, apprenticeships and the future often come with pressure, uncertainty and self-doubt. At MOB, we believe every young man deserves the opportunity to explore those questions in an environment where he feels supported, challenged and understood.
Our Years 11 and 12 program is designed to help young men identify their strengths, develop practical skills and build confidence in their future. Learning extends beyond the classroom through industry qualifications, vocational education, work experience and real-world opportunities that connect students to life beyond school.
At MOB, young men experience:
Practical, purpose-driven learning
Industry qualifications and vocational pathways
Work experience and school-based traineeships
Leadership opportunities and community involvement
Personalised pathway planning and career support
A strong sense of belonging and connection
Every young man’s journey looks different. Some will move into employment, others into apprenticeships, traineeships or further study.
Our role is to walk alongside them, helping them build a future that is meaningful to them and giving them the confidence to take the next step.
