At MOB Academy, building better men doesn’t stop at the school gates — we’re all about setting our young men up for life after school.
That’s why the month of May has been all about career exploration. Whether it’s further study, a trade, or heading straight into the workforce, we’ve been working alongside our industry and training partners to help our boys figure out their next steps.
Here’s what’s been happening around MOB this month:
Apprenticeship & Traineeship Workshops
Our Year 11 students have been getting hands-on with their future thanks to Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) and CWBTS Carpentry Training. These workshops are about more than just jobs — they’re about understanding what’s out there, how to navigate the world of work, and how to build a portfolio that makes them stand out.
One-on-One Career Interviews
Over nine days, our friends from MEGT Australia sat down with every single Year 11 student for a one-on-one career interview. These conversations helped the boys explore different pathways, set clear goals, and walk away with a personalised Career Action Plan. They also got some solid practice for the kinds of interviews they’ll face in the real world.
Gold Coast Careers Festival – May 15
Our Year 12 students will be heading to the Gold Coast Careers Festival at Carrara, where they’ll meet employers, training providers, and universities. It’s a chance for them to see firsthand what’s out there — and who they can become.
Every conversation, every connection, every bit of clarity is a stepping stone. These moments might feel small now, but they’re helping our young men take their next steps with purpose and confidence.
The future’s coming fast. And we’re making sure our boys are ready for it.
