At MOB Academy, we’ve always believed that clear goals and well-deserved rewards are crucial in nurturing the growth and development of our students. After years of working closely with young men, we’ve found that positive reinforcement plays a pivotal role in their success. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our latest initiative—the Mighty Claw Machine—designed to reward and encourage positive behaviour.
Our Positive Rewards Program is all about recognising and celebrating the actions that align with our core values. From exceptional attendance to embodying the principles of MOB Academy and going above and beyond in everyday tasks—whether it’s lending a helping hand in the kitchen, tidying up the classroom, or showing kindness to peers—our students are continuously demonstrating behaviours that make us proud.
The Mighty Claw Machine has quickly become a favourite among our students, and for good reason. It’s not just a fun activity; it’s a powerful tool for motivating and reinforcing positive actions.
Here’s how it works: for every positive behaviour that reflects our school values, students earn a token. These tokens are then used for a turn on the Claw Machine during lunchtime.
In just two weeks since the program’s launch, we’ve seen an impressive 84 tokens redeemed—each one representing an act of positive behaviour. This enthusiastic participation highlights the effectiveness of the Claw Machine in encouraging our students to strive for excellence.
The rewards within the Claw Machine are as exciting as they are diverse. Each coloured ball corresponds to a different value of gift card, redeemable at a store of their choice:
Green Ball: $50
Purple Ball: $100
Gold Ball: $250
In addition to these, there are smaller rewards such as sushi vouchers, drinks and treats.
We’re incredibly proud of the positive impact this program is having on our school community. It’s inspiring to see our students embrace and embody our values with such enthusiasm and integrity. As we move forward, we look forward to witnessing even more acts of kindness and excellence.
