This term, our Year 11 students are diving deep into the connection between the arts and identity — exploring how music and visual art can express who we are, where we come from, and what we stand for.
Through MOB Success, our creative elective program, the boys are experimenting with two powerful art forms: songwriting and canvas painting. In the first few weeks, they’ve been guided through both mediums, with time and space to try each before choosing one to pursue more deeply.
Some students are writing and producing original songs, drawing from personal stories and lived experience. Others are designing and painting canvases that reflect their journey, their beliefs, and their voice. It’s a hands-on process that goes beyond technique — encouraging reflection, storytelling, and cultural connection.
We’re only halfway through the term, but the creative energy in these sessions is already something special. From bold brushstrokes to honest lyrics, the work our boys are producing is thoughtful, personal, and full of heart.
This program is about more than just making art — it’s about making meaning. And for many of our students, it’s become a powerful way to explore identity, connect with others, and take pride in their story.
