Year 12 Leadership Immersion: Stepping into New Roles

The Year 12s at MOB Academy began their first day back with a powerful Leadership Immersion experience, setting the tone for the year ahead. This day was all about re-integrating our young men into their new roles as leaders, ensuring they step into Year 12 with a clear understanding of the expectations and responsibilities that come with guiding the school community.

In the transition phase of the MOB Academy journey, students face a crucial point where they leave behind their comfort zones and enter a space that challenges them to grow. The shift from Year 11 to Year 12 marks the beginning of real transformation, and the Leadership Immersion day was designed to prepare them for this pivotal moment.

Throughout the day, the Year 12s rotated between three key sessions focused on leadership, culture, and our core MOB values. The students recapped the MOB values and expectations, engaged in a physical exercise that brought leadership to life in a hands-on way, and participated in discussions about the differences between boy behavior and man behavior. These activities were designed to provoke thought, reflection, and self-awareness.

A key part of the day was dedicated to personal self-reflection. The Year 12s set goals for their growth, thinking about the journey ahead and how they could step up as leaders both in and out of the classroom. These sessions were led by the Engagement Team, with teachers supporting each group, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to fully engage and take away something meaningful.

By the end of the day, the Year 12s left with a renewed sense of pride, motivation, and clarity about the responsibility that comes with being a leader at MOB Academy.

This day marked a significant milestone for these young men, who are now more than just students—they’re leaders in the making, ready to take on the challenges and responsibilities of Year 12. 🖤
